NGL, I am not a fan of the movies in comparison to the books (I don't hate the movies or expect them to somehow include everything in the books, but most of the changes they made from the books just aren't my thing.) But I seriously love the movie version of how Merry and Pippin join up with Frodo and Sam about 100000x more than the book version. I just find the way they get caught up in the adventure by sheer accident really funny and satisfying.
