Sounds like you're in a bind, but if you can't stay, you can't stay. It's probably going to be harder getting confirmed for a new place now when there's so much time until summer. Just keep in touch with landlords and ask if there's a time they typically start getting vacancies and when you should apply.

The only real answer to "when should I definitely have a place" is "before you have to leave this one." You might want to overlap a week or so so that you have time to transition and clean the old place.

Alright, thank you very much for the advice! This is the first time I'm moving on my own (I've lived in one place for a few years, and the dorms before that) and it's pretty stressful.
