Sorry for the cut off letter, I didn't realize until too late. :(

I'm probably not going to go see the new Ghostbusters. I'm not anti-remake, and I'm not against this remake, with all women, but...

I just REALLY hate Melissa McCarthy.

I find her grating and her sense of humor to be banal and pointless, and I'm not looking forward to it in the film.

If only it had been anyone but her. :(

I don't think her Ghostbusters character is the typical, crude, in-your-face style humor she normally does. From the trailer, seems like she's playing a different sort of character.

I'm deeply indifferent to her.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I like her. *shrug* I thought it was funny when she showed up on The Daily Show in a homemade dress with Jon Stewart's face printed all over it.

Meh, she's okay. But the movie still looks like complete crap, so my feelings toward her are of no real account.

I like her, but admittedly i've only seen Spy.

She was really good in Spy OP.

Anyways, I'm holding off all judgements about the movie untill I actually go see it.

I've only seen one of her movies and I found it disgusting and vulgar. I'm not in any hurry to see another one.

I have to admit, my interest in this movie took a nose dive when I saw her in the trailer. The movies I've seen with her in it range from "ugh, awful" (Bridesmaids) to "meh" (Spy). I'll probably still go and see it (unless the reviews are really bad), but I'm not going in with high expectations.

Maybe crude, raunchy comedies just aren't for you but neither of those films are by any means bad movies.

I'm going to see it for Chris Hemsworth. I care about nothing else in this movie. Chris Hemsworth as a secretary makes it all worth it.

I liked her in Gilmore Girls, but otherwise she hasn't done much for me.

I was not at all impressed with the trailer though and have no interest in seeing the movie. I have no idea what they were going for, but it wasn't what I was expecting based on the first trailer. None of the characters seemed likable. Ugh.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
It could be worse, they could have cast some annoying SNL vet like Kristen Wiig or Kate McKinnon. What a disaster that would be!

(I'm kidding. I'm not a big Wiig fan, but she's OK with a good script, and McKinnon and Jones are pretty funny.)

I've enjoyed a handful movies while not caring for a few of the comedians staring in them.

Ex. Sarah Silverman in Wreck It Ralph and Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack.

Enjoy the movie if you do, don't beat yourself up if you don't.

Yeah but how much of her playing a role in a movie is going to be her sense of humor vs. the writers' sense of humor?

The trailer didn't inspire me to see it.

I'm sort of 'Eh' on her

I liked her in Mike and Molly, until she became like super popular, than it basically became the Molly show

From what I've heard, they've been easing up on Molly centric plots, so... Eh

This is pretty much how I feel but replace Melissa McCarthy with Kristen Wiig. I just can't stand her.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
lol

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think she's adorable myself. But I also don't want to know much about her because I'm terrified she shares her cousin's politics.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Who's her cousin? Joe McCarthy?

Yeah you just hate fat women and conceal it with shallow reasons. You quirky snowflake, you.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-11 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It is the black transwoman that I just can't take seriously in it.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-12 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen a whole trailer for this yet, so I had no idea until now she was in it. I think I'll wait to rent it for $1.50 rather than go to the theater.
