Othello was always my favorite, and I find it more tragic.

I feel it's more tragic because while circumstance is also a factor, it stems more from people's inner demons than random chance.

Always my preferred type of stories.

This is why Macbeth is my favorite. The witches put it in action, but Macbeth dug his own grave.

Yeah I was always more of a fan of Othello, I only got to study it the once though. :\

Weirdly I've never really enjoyed reading or studying Shakespeare's plays :P I'm from the tribe who believe they need to be seen. Othello and Midnight Summer's Dream, my other favorite, are the only ones I've seen several different productions of.

I agree with you on that tbh, I always found Shakespeare a little dull to read but we got to go to plays of them sometimes and I found them so much more engaging to watch. (Romeo and Juliet though didn't manage to catch on with me so much even after seeing a play of it, but frankly I think I'd just done it far too much by then).

I think when I did Othello we watched a recording of a play but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
