Okay, it was years ago that I saw this so I may be way off-base, but...

for a long time that Sam was taking demon blood, wasn't it out of a desire to do good? He wanted to save people's lives by forcing the demons out of them, while Dean's solution was "just stab them." He did, in fact, manage to save some lives via his methods. And Ruby was deceiving him all the while - Sam was a victim in all this. I feel like this thread is hopping on Sam for being the Worst Person Ever, but like, he did have good intentions. It just spiralled out of control because Demon Blood.

No one's saying Sam is the worst person ever.

Saying he's not a perfectly innocent victim, that he made some seriously stupid choices, and that those choices had serious negative impact on the people around him, isn't the same thing.
