Or possibly it implies that I anticipate people have their own arbitrary measurement, hence why I asked "In your heart of hearts", and I want to know if people think they measure up themselves.

That's what you think it implies. That's not what everyone else thinks it implies. That "heart of hearts" shit was really smarmy, too. Basically your entire first post was a red flag so big you could do semaphore with it. What planet are you from?

Minor semantic point. Implies: what is meant. Inferred what is read.

What I meant it to imply is what it implies. That's the part I have control over. How it is inferred is the side I can't control. So I see what you mean, but it should be "That's what yuU implied. That's not what everyone else inferred."

You're trying to derail. The point is, intent isn't magic, as stated above. You can't get upset because everyone misread your intent, especially when you refuse to actually explain your intent.

NAYRT

I think there's a point where like... language means what everyone thinks it means. I get that you meant it to imply that you only wanted people to consider their own standards, but I don't think that's what it meant to anyone reading it, or to any hypothetical reasonable disinterested reader.

Which is fine, shit happens, I'm just saying, like, people weren't baselessly inferring it.
