Re: MRA stuff

No comment on the MRA stuff, but what makes you think a bottle of piss is nonviolent protest?

Is pissing on random people not criminal assault in Canada? It is in the US.

Sorry battery* not assault.

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, come on I'd hardly call it violent. The shit he was spouting was violent. Bodily fluids are not.

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Legally, it is considered battery.

I would goddamn home it's considered battery and someone is charged with a crime if some random guy I didn't know threw a bottle of piss potentially contaminated with who-knows-what on me.

Whether or not he deserved it, and I'm not arguing that he didn't, it's hardly 'nonviolent protest.'

+3. It's a biohazard.

Really? I never would have pegged you for taking the over sensitive reactionary MRA viewpoint. You're usually much smarter than this.

It's not nice, sure, but we don't have to be nice and in this case absolutely no harm came from it except that the idiot might thing twice about opening his mouth.

So thinking maybe people shouldn't have bottles of piss thrown at them makes her not-smart. Nice to know the shit some feminists endorse nowadays.

Can you explain how saying it's a bad thing to throw pee at people means I'm taking the throwee's viewpoint?

If someone threw piss at you, would you think it's perfectly ok so long as no harm came of it?

You know, F!S has had a lot of various trolls over the years, but this kind of bullshit concern trolling/sealioning is the most infuriating.

Urine is not a biohazard unless it has blood in it.

I'm not saying having piss tossed at you is a good thing, but you are taking it a bit far.

I work in a medical lab. All body fluids are treated as biohazards. And unless it's been analyzed you can't prove there wasn't any blood in it.

Furthermore, it's fucking disgusting.

Would you argue that it's *not* assault to throw pee at a person?

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-14 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
seriously, who would think getting pissed threw at oneself and being happy about it is a thing....?

and seriously, who think this is a normal behavior?

SA Would you call spitting on someone violent?

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/battery

The following elements must be proven to establish a case for battery: (1) an act by a defendant; (2) an intent to cause harmful or offensive contact on the part of the defendant; and (3) harmful or offensive contact to the plaintiff.

The Act The act must result in one of two forms of contact. Causing any physical harm or injury to the victim—such as a cut, a burn, or a bullet wound—could constitute battery, but actual injury is not required. Even though there is no apparent bruise following harmful contact, the defendant can still be guilty of battery; occurrence of a physical illness subsequent to the contact may also be actionable. The second type of contact that may constitute battery causes no actual physical harm but is, instead, offensive or insulting to the victim. Examples include spitting in someone's face or offensively touching someone against his or her will.

Touching the person of someone is defined as including not only contacts with the body, but also with anything closely connected with the body, such as clothing or an item carried in the person's hand. For example, a battery may be committed by intentionally knocking a hat off someone's head or knocking a glass out of some-one's hand.

I see speech nowhere in that legal definition, either, so.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
*weighs*

Piss. Words. Piss. Words.

I'm gonna have to go with piss as the more violent action here.

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
mte. That is absolutely a crime, at least in the US. I really don't mind making a mockery of people spouting hate speech but throwing physical objects at them, and absolutely something as disgusting as piss, is gross and just makes you look bad.

Re: MRA stuff

(Anonymous) 2016-03-13 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Even if you the person deserves it morally, it should be considered a crime if only to protect the people who don't deserve it when it happens to them. Things don't magically become uncriminal when you think the pissed-on party deserves it.

It's just one of those cultural differences, you know? That's how Canada is. They love piss.
