I feel like McShep is almost as shippy early in the series, but in a different way. The dynamic definitely grows and changes over time.

*shrugs* It isn't going to appeal to everyone though.

Yeah, I think McShep is mostly one of those fangirl projections. Not that John and Rodney aren't funny together. But they're not a couple so much as an Odd-Couple.

John/Teyla is more hinted at, even if it's not actually canon. And the relationships between John & Elizabeth and John and Ford would probably be even shippier to me if they weren't above and below him in command hierarchy.
