Seriously. It's like fanartists whose only mode of engagement with characters is to turn them into adorable chibi cartoons and make them have tea parties. It raises genuine questions about what OS their brains are running.

Yup. I hold nothing against people who don't feel up to watching a sad movie or who don't want to see a documentary about terrible things. But if they're like "only happy uplifting things 100% of the time, don't even talk to me about world news lalala" it gets... weird.
