Could be that they're just barely getting through life. When a close family member of mine was seriously ill and my life was pretty much sleep/work/hospital/sleep, I couldn't handle much more than comedies.

I get that. "Not now" is totally understandable and people's tolerance levels fluctuate. I understand that outside circumstances might make certain times the exception where you DO put your hands over your eyes and ears and put your head in the sand, everyone gets those.

When it's that's all the time, yeah, they may have an issue.

See, and THAT I can get. I missed Twelve Years A Slave in theaters because I was in a very bad depressive episode at the time, and people I trust told me "This is not the movie to watch while already depressed." But I'm looking forward to seeing it soon now that I'm doing better.
