people who don't want to binge-watch Jessica Jones the month it's released?

SO MANY PEOPLE were all but harassing me to "hurry up" and binge watch that show...despite the fact that (a) the subject matter just wasn't all that interesting to me and (b) it just seemed way, way too heavy for where I was at right when it came out.

I have a relative and close friend who "noped" out of Jessica Jones after a few episodes. I don't blame her.

I had a friend basically say "Look, I barely know you but I do know [thanks to a weird coincidence] that this will really, really upset you! But watch it!! It's about abuse! You're morally obligated!"

...no im not

Your friend isn't wrong. Stuff like this needs support, and if you're a feminist, you are morally obligated to support feminist media. It is literally the least you can do.

What about people who don't have netflix? Are they obligated to pony up for the show even though it might freak them out? Honestly, I dunno if I could watch it, and I haven't had anything more traumatic than groping, catcalls, and being followed home ever happen to me. I mean, I think you're trolling, but this is still kind of a skeevy attitude even if you're faking it.

1. I support Jessica Jones fully. I just don't want to watch it myself.

2. Lol no

3. There is nothing feminist in demanding women (or anyone!) do something they don't want to do because of your agenda ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I noped out of Jessica Jones myself. I get that it's important, and I'm very glad it was made, but that was just not how I wanted to spend my free time :X

Yeah, and what about the crazy anon a while back who was acting like women had a moral obligation to watch it?

I made it through episode 4 or 5, but frankly it bored me.

That crazy anon went to work for the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Best of luck to her with that.
