Funnily enough the third movie is what made me ship it, and I don't mean young!Kay/Jay either but their regular versions. Shipping is weird.

AYRT. Different tropes I guess. Though young!Kay/Jay didn't come into it for me either. It was the watch that gave me problems. I'm not very fond of the whole life-debt/knew-you-as-a-kid thing, and it made me feel like a lot of the first and second movies were cheapened a bit by Kay knowing Jay all along.

Ahhh, that kind of thing doesn't bug me but I get you and if you've got an aversion to that trope in the first place I can totally understand why the third movie would make you a bit 'eh' on their relationship.

Yeah. For shipping purposes, I like to pretend that the third movie or at least that aspect of it never happened, and Jay was just this hot new thing that came out of nowhere and rocked Kay's world. Repeatedly.
