I go through cycles where I will read depressing grimdark shit and like it, but there are times when I just want to build a mountain of stuffed animals and burrow into it with a hot water bottle and a pile of Disney movies. Often when my life goes to shit, I don't want to deal with fictional nastiness. I'm not going to judge people for what degree of fictional darkness they can stomach unless they're going "what bland fluffy bullshit, what are you, five?" or "how can you watch that disgusting show, you soulless monster?" And that's not about what they like, it's about them being judgmental so I figure might as well do it back.

Going through cycles is not absolute 0. As much as people appear to be misinterpreting my comment, we're not in disagreement.
