It's not really my place to say whether or not this happened - though this isn't the first time she's brought this to the spotlight and I have no reason to doubt her.

But I find it weird to accuse pop stars of "trying to get attention". That's literally their job. Getting gigs and trying to make them memorable is what pop stars and other musicians/showpeople in general are supposed to do. Why is that inherently a bad thing?

I thought the song was pretty, anyway, and I don't really see the downside of having a new famous song bring more attention to issues of rape and recognition of the struggles of rape survivors.

Right? Why is a singer "bidding for attention" even bad? Not liking her music is one thing but idk why people think a celebrity wanting attention is bad? She was nominated so she performed it.

and, gee, I guess all those rape survivors standing on stage for her must just be doing it for attention! It's not like they actually CARE about what happened to them lmao.
