I did all this research into epilators, bought one, and still didn't like it. I never found the optimal length my leg hair should be to use it properly- too long and it hurts a lot, too short and it's basically doing nothing.

You want it to be maybe 3-4mm long. After frequent use you find the hair on your leg will grow less thick which helps minimise the pain as the pain is from the amount of hair not the length.

If you struggle with getting it started, shaving your leg and letting it grow out for 4-5 days THEN using the epilator can get it started with slightly less pain.
