It's normal to feel nervous or have mixed feelings about people being sexually attracted to you, but what you describe is not particularly healthy behavior. If you're not attentive, this pattern will set you up for a bunch of really disappointing, damaging relationships. It might be a cliche, but you should consider therapy (or at least some frank soul searching) to probe why you're attracted to emotionally unavailable men.

My guess is that liking men who don't like you is no risk, because you don't have a chance. You can have all the romance you want and it will be perfect because it only exists inside your head. You have 100% control over it then. But if a man returns your interest... oops! Now REAL romance is a possibility, romance you can't control. That's scary, and it may be cooling your ardor.
