You do realize that the HP fandom is full of people who think the fandom is better than the canon, right?

To be fair, it might be their circle. There are still canon-oriented spaces. Or maybe that's where they used to lurk, and they finally decided to make a secret about it.

Plus, there are also a lot of people who get tetchy about that sort of thing.

Hard to believe. It seems OP is mostly into fics, and the fic-writing part of the fandom is the most fanon oriented part of the HP fandom.

AYRT - Yeah, but as I said, some still are. PhoenixSong is still relatively active, and that's very canon oriented. And there's some ship comms for canon ships.

They're scarce and small, but they're there.
