Depends on what constitutes rudeness. Insulting a boss to their face, yeah, not a good idea (although unless it was really extreme it should be a final warning for the first offense and not a firing) but expressing discontent civilly is not rudeness (but I've seen people fired for the latter too). Talking about how you hate your boss and job in a bar out of work hours is 100% every free individual's god given right should never be a firing offense. Right now though managers are wanting every greater control of their employees private lives, and willing to take ever lessening internal disagreement.
