Huh. I wouldn't have thought of Mothman. For some reason it's classed more as a supernatural mystery than horror in my head, in the same space as the X-files. It does have some fantastically creepy moments, though, and the overall idea is creepy as hell. (The fact that it's one of my mother's 'movies to watch when indulging a crush on Richard Gere' may also have something to do with my difficulty).

I keep meaning to try The Changeling again. The night I tried to watch it I was ... not in the best frame of mind, and it scared the everloving fuck out of me too much to go through with it. I should really get back and try again.

Well, a great deal of horror is supernatural by definition, it's just that the Mothman movie is about a cryptid rather than ghosts, vampires, etc. It's not my favorite but it's got some nice spooky moments and the tie in with real historical events makes it more interesting, IMO.

Yeah. I think it's more the tone than the content that moves it somewhere else in my head. The RL elements were fascinating, though, and I enjoy the movie a lot.
