I totally get that (I'm that type), and I see him similarly, but I don't find it hot so I choose to believe in his tough act and have him mask his weakness with agressiveness. Similar view, different kink.
(I've read quite some fics lately in which he was super cool and in control and comforting though. That was some weird OOC fantasy stuff... It's Kylo Ren ffs!)
