Yeah. I love those kinds of characters that are only in it for themselves. Crowley is fun because he's evil but he's also a hedonist who loves all Earth has to offer.

I stopped watching after S5, but I'd almost go back to it for Crowley alone.

In the Winchesters' defense, they often do try to kill him, Crowley just gets the better of them. And the times inbetween that are because they've mafe a deal with him or he has something they need.

I was always rather meh on Crowley. I was much more interested in Azazel, Alistair, Lilith, Lucifer.

The Winchesters don't try more actively to beat Crowley because for a long time now they've had a sort of uneasy alliance kind of thing going on - he's quite literally "the devil you know", in that if they kill him off, SOMEONE is gonna rule hell and lead the demons, and it'll be someone that has no connection with them or affection for them or desire to work with them in the slightest.

It's about convenience, on their end.

It's about... something more than that, on his end, I think, at this point. Still a little bit of humanity rolling around in there, I think. :P

And as someone else pointed out, they HAVE tried to kill him before, and failed. Crowley has NOT made one crucial mistake that has been the undoing of almost all SPN villains - underestimating the Winchesters - while they consistently underestimate him, and THAT is why he's still alive.

At least, in the context of the story. :P lol

The best thing would be Crowley ending up in Heaven, where his heaven is ruling Hell, but he knows it's an illusion. HEAVEN HELL.

But Crowley HATES Hell, it's canon. :P So ... not exactly an appropriate Heaven for him.

Of course you probably knew that and it's probably the point. Heaven's punishment for Crowley.

Angels are always dicks. They're only not dicks when they start to like the Winchesters, then they become tolerable. I give a pass to Cas and the sweet Samandriel.
