Re: Indian culture recs?

If you're okay with a madcap romance, A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev is pretty well-beloved. The heroine was married as a child to the hero's brother, and the hero's family mistakenly thought the marriage was annulled. Now that the hero's brother is looking to get married, voluntarily this time, the hero tracks down the heroine during her fellowship in America to try to secure a divorce. The book deals somewhat with themes of societal gender roles and abuse, but is funny and heartwarming and looks at Indian culture in the city, in the country, and abroad, so it might be worth checking out.
