That sounds like me you're describing, tbh. I think part of the reason is disliking the possible confrontation. If you're friend doesn't have many friends, they may be worried about losing one.

Or maybe it's because their opinions aren't super strong? If I kind of liked something a friend hated, I would bend because I don't care enough about it & I can see where they're coming from.

OP, I'd say you should bring it up lightly. Focus more on how it's nbd if they disagree, debating opinions could be fun sometimes, etc.

For me personally, it just stresses me out a bit because of my anxiety. Like, if she's not being 100% honest about some things, what if I'm constantly annoying her but she's too nice to bring it up? What if she actually thinks I'm being too pushy about my opinions and wants me to tone it down, but doesn't know how to ask? I'd honestly rather know these things!

It probably doesn't help that I grew up around incredibly opinionated people, so this is still new territory for me.

Chances are she probably feels that she is the one annoying you, I mean, I've been that friend and I wouldn't want to be the one pushing things that I know the other doesn't like down their throats. I think bringing it up lightly is good. The attittude won't change overnight, but confidence takes little steps.
