God, people are so fucking judgmental nowadays. Since when has shipping become a socialite club where everyone has to agree on everything OR ELSE. Isn't it enough that we like the same series? I find this nitpicky behavior so damn confusing.

People get really weird when it comes to shipping. There's a lot of projection involved (and I say this as someone who definitely projected onto her ships when she was wee, heh), which I think makes people more apt to take it personally when others ship or don't ship certain things.

In the case of this particular pairing, said projection tends to lead to the assumption that shippers support actual, real-life incest, because if shipping is fundamentally bound up with who you are and what you want, then there is no possible other reason for you to have such a ship.

So, I get it. I don't like it, especially since it's not true, and it annoys me that my fellow shippers and I are persona non grata, but...it makes a certain sort of sense.
