She looks like the child of Brian Howard and Agatha Runcible. So not very attractive.

Sometimes people who are a bit different get lonely, and are really happy to find someone like them eventually. It's not a weird basis for a romance.

There's no information that Hagrid's parents hurt each other. The two species can have a relationship.

That would be because his human parent was his dad. Unless Hagrid's dick is the size of an average human man's dick (which would be HILARIOUS!), he's pretty limited in the procreation process.

It makes sense for that to be why he wooes her though? And there's no evidence that he didn't care about her as a person, wtf.

As an aside, Maxime is one of the few HP characters I have trouble visualizing as their movie counterpart. She just doesn't look anything like I imagined her, and for some reason the movie image for her doesn't stick.

It might be because she's a very minor character who only shows up in one book/movie (which is also why it's honestly kind of dumb imo that this is your entire basis for not liking Hagrid - it was a minor arc not at all relevant to the overall plot; his character goes way beyond that)

It's still a part of his arc.

I haven't read the books in a little while, so forgive me if I forget something important, but I'm pretty sure it only came up later on when he convinced her to go on his giant-parley expedition with him? Whether or not she goes with him doesn't change the fact that that's where he's going. Everything about Hagrid's story would be identical if Maxime weren't in it, she's just an added flavor and a very minor one at that.

So we're not supposed to be drawn to people because we have things in common with them??

This is a really weird attempt to start race wank.

How do we know he didn't care? Even if his interest is based entirely on superficial traits, that doesn't mean he doesn't care about or respect her. How close do two people have to be before they can be said to care about each other enough to be allowed to date? (Which isn't even a commitment.)
