Person of Interest.

*cracks knuckles*

Not sure I agree with you there, friend.

Plenty of others who agree with me.

I've read ahead, and I know we at least have Shoot tension to look forward to (that looks fun), but the rest of it.... meh.

Well okay I'm not nearly as invested in disagreeing if this isn't a thing about Shoot specifically.

That said, I think the show continues to be pretty good after season 2, in much the same way as it was before - the same entertainment action wise and the same character work and the same play of ideas. But that's just my opinion.

Oh hell no, it's not about the Shoot. Shoot is the only reason I'm going to keep watching.

Wait what? How was Person of Interest "completely destroyed" in Season 3?

I mean, apart from the *spoilers* character death *spoilers* ... I don't think it declined all that much in quality. I still have fun watching it even if I do miss that character.

Ack, I have only just seen that episode and it destroyed me. So possibly, my feelings are being coloured by it.

Yeah, I mean, I know quite a few people who stopped watching after that because they were so invested in her... and I was worried too that the show would go downhill.

But it really hasn't. They've kept the tight plotting and expanded the whole scope of the thing. They also introduce Shaw after this - YMMV, I was at first really really resistant to her character and dismissed her as "strong female" fanservice. But I grew to like her.

So, I love the first two seasons, and I also like the later seasons, just in different ways. It's still such a good show writing-wise, especially in comparison to so many other shows out there...

Person of Interest definitely changed its focus and became different, but I definitely wouldn't say it destroyed the show. I really like the new seasons, even if they are bleaker and with a different format and purpose.

They did not "completely destroy the show". If you're upset about the character death I totally get that, I was gutted too. But, much as I loved her, she was not a character central to the show/plot and the show went on without her just fine.

That said, I actually do think that the show went downhill during season three, but that's because they took the show in a different direction that just didn't really work for me. I still love the show and am impatiently waiting for the fifth season, but I very much prefer the first two seasons.
