I've never looked it up, but Gandalf/Galadriel is up there on my "ship it a lot but not at all interested in any of the normal fanfic tropes" list. Like, I would not be the TINIEST bit interested in what fanfic shippy stories are usually about - getting together etc. But I would be up for vague emotional infidelity, pining without having any true desire to be together, etc.
