I love SGA and McShep too, though it's been a while since I've read any fanfic for them. I've been tempted to re-watch the show though because I did love it so much, even when it got a bit weaker towards the end.

Oh I agree it got bad towards the end. I've just finished season 2, and I think season 3 was good, but I'm kinda dreading S4 and S5. Still, I wonder how long it would have lasted if the showrunners hadn't moved on to Stargate Universe.

I think the writers probably wanted to get at least two more seasons out of it, just going by SG-1's length, but they didn't get the time for it. Which does make me sad but then I wonder if it would have really lost it's edge had it gone on for more than 5 seasons, but we shall never know.

Yeah it seems like it could have gone for seven seasons at least because it did have a pretty big fanbase. And I believe they going to do a movie at some point too. It's a pity, the team dynamic and characters in SGA were far and away better than any in SGU.

I heard the movie buzz as well but it never amounted to anything, it would have been nice though just to see the characters again and give them a good send-off.

Oh I loved the SGA character dynamics so much, and not just with the main team but everyone on Atlantis, they all felt like they were important which was something I enjoyed watching.

Even with all the slash in Season 4? There were some pretty good McShep episodes IRC.

Also, adding my +1 to the McShep thread. They will always be a pairing I enjoy.

I'm glad to hear S4 is slashy! I have almost no memory of it, actually, although when I start watching it I'm sure it will come back.
