I wish I knew how to help a recovering alcoholic stay recovered, but, um, what else does she like to do? Are you guys close? Some people get weird about "celebrating" refraining from addictive behavior, but if she likes movies or baseball games or paintball or getting her nails done, maybe do little mini-celebrations for every week or month or whatever she stays sober? Is she involved with AA or anything? Does she drink because she's already depressed, whether diagnosed depression or having a shit day at work or whatever? Sometimes it helps to short-circuit pity-party drinking by offering a distraction, whether that's watching a cheesy movie with her or, if you can't/don't want to be her primary means of distraction, a gift certificate for a pedicure or a movie or something. If she drinks to have fun, I dunno; all the drunks I know are the hardcore sort who drink because as far as their hindbrains are concerned, it's right up there, if not more important than food, shelter, safety, and sex. Good luck, to you and to her, and know that while it's great to offer her support, you're not responsible for her happiness or sobriety.
