Re: Character Talk

I will always be bitter that Neal Cassidy never got the chance to host a Disney movie night and teach Mulan all the words to "Be a Man," not to mention the word "polyamory" while shoving her gently at Aurora and Philip. BECAUSE HE DIED. He loved Henry so fucking much and he never got the chance to introduce Belle to the Beat poets and he would've been a fantastic big brother and even though life threw so much awful shit at him he always had a sense of humor; I swear, aside from snark, no-one else on OUAT understands how to be funny. And he and his dad had so much reconciling still to do and I wanted to see him be initially horrified by and still try (and succeed) at getting along with Regina. I never even shipped him with Emma until right before the episode he died in, and I still prefer solo, happy, single parent Emma, co-parenting with Regina and Neal. So bitter that the only way they could justify pairing her with Hook was by killing Neal off. If they'd taken an entire season to redeem Hook, instead of changing his motivation from "in Bae's memory" to "Emma makes me happy in my pants" between seasons 2 and 3, maybe Neal could've lived, and I wouldn't have given up on OUAT as fast as I did.

The only good part of him dying is he escaped from the shitfest the show has become.
