(Anonymous) 2016-03-30 04:01 am (UTC)(link)you do your research and don't ask others to do it for you.
Most agents have websites. They represent certain things and only those certain things. They don't know what they want until it hits their desk in those certain genres. There are websites that list agents. There are websites that will tell you if they are actually agents or predators. There are websites and blogs about how to write a query letter. And, there are no hard and fast rules. You are asking about the hardest, most frustrating part of writing.
Oh, and most importantly, Have a finished manuscript and a dedicated email for any writing business.
I wish you the best of luck.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-30 05:35 am (UTC)(link)But again, worrying about this stuff is like worrying how you're going to manage your money in the offchance you win the lottery, when you haven't even bought a ticket yet. Your primary concern is writing the best book you can, making sure it's edited (not just for spelling and grammar but properly edited and revised) and THEN you can start figuring out how to submit it to an agent. The submitting is not the hard part, so don't spend too much energy wondering about how you'll accomplish that.
