I generally like my characters to stay the same personality wise (in any fanfic honestly). Like if you bend a man into a woman and they start weeping because they're just so much more emotional and need protection now, I'm going to back button fast.

But I think you can either keep things pretty much the same and they happen to be the opposite gender, or you can explore how they navigate having different gender roles pushed on them. And either way as long as they keep their personalities in tact I'll be happy.

Thanks. That's helpful. I think with these two they'd be pretty similar. Certain traits involving arrogance and feeling like no one properly appreciates them might actually be stronger because women in this fandom wouldn't normally be in charge or in the forge. But mostly they'd be the same. I think the idea of dark ladies in this fandom is actually interesting so there are some fun ways I can go with this.
