IMHO, though, anyone who makes fun of someone else's faith is kind of a jerk. I've got friends from a bunch of different faiths, and quite a few agnostic/aethist friends as well. It's a matter of respecting someone's choice to believe in something.* But sometimes, it takes awhile to find that kind of maturity in you peers. I hope some day you feel comfortable enough in your faith to be upfront about it and not worry too much about what arrogant jerks say, but I understand that it's rough.
*(I'll just call myself a hypocrite and say those statements just don't apply to Scientology. Yeah, trollbait, me.)

I'd say your best bet in fandom is to find a nice, small, friendly community and only really mention your faith if the subject comes up. The one I been going to for the last few years in my main fandom - we're all tight knit and while most are not Christian, they don't care that I am. Then again, it's a friendly community where the members are, for the most part "anti-snark" (basically the opposite of everything I've seen on LJ).
On any fandom community with thousands of members, like this one, if you are too sensitive to deal with the wank and do not feel like you are ready to stand up for yourself and you just don't think you can handle pointless fights -- then, yeah, I suggest making an effort of not mentioning it. Christians basically fall into the category of "Acceptable Targets" for much of fandom. You have to have a steel skin on places like this.
I mention my faith openly on the big coms - then again, I *am* a bit of a massochist. I can undestand people not as massochistic as I am hiding it for the sake of keeping the peace/not dealing with biased people's crap.
So, yeah. My advice is either to grow a steel skin or to find some small, out of the way fandom community with realtively few members that display a lot of common friendliness and to stay away from the big snarkfests.
