I get sleep paralysis. It's a little different from that. You can move around and do things like brush your teeth and take a shower in the false awakenings. In sleep paralysis, you're paralyzed in the dream with a monster looming on or near you and can't physically move either your dream body or your real one.

Have you seen Kill Bill? The scene where Beatrice is paralyzed and staring at her foot and willing it to move, but it won't? That, in dream form.

I expect that's what people who are conscious but fully paralyzed feel like all the time, besides the looming evil part. It's got a 'trapped in your own dead weight body' kind of feeling to it.

False awakenings can have that like the above anon said but that comes at the end when you realize you're dreaming and isn't the main portion. It also lacks the looming unnamed fear bit.
