BvS broke another record!

(Anonymous) 2016-04-02 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It had the largest drop in audience from opening to second weekend of any comic book movie at 81%.

What does that mean?

That it is a terrible movie. And that the initial big opening was probably from pre-sale tickets bought months ago.

NA
I hope that means they'll take the lesson that people really want a Batman and Superman movie but that the direction they're going in isn't the right one. Because, I really do want more DC movies and I want them to do well, but I hate the grim-dark tone and the focus on "realism" rather than the fantastical.

They need to fire Zack Snyder and David Goyer. Get 'em outta here. The rest will take care of itself.

Oh I see, I don't know much about this stuff so thank you for the clarification!

It means a bunch of people saw it opening weekend, everyone said it was bullshit, and so the people who were going to see it next chance they got didn't bother, and the people who saw it the first time didn't see it again.

Meaning, it sucked wrinkled balls.

It means people were excited about the premise, but horrified by the way the film handled it. Normally for a mega-blockbuster you'd expect a small drop (or a plateau or even a small second peak if it is really good) then a gentle slow drop off over several weeks as it satisfied the rewatchers and they slowly lost interest. A sharp drop off means that those that went to see it not only did not want to return to it, but the word of mouth put off anyone who had not gone to see it first weekend from doing so at blockbuster ticket prices. It means they had something potentially audience enticing, but screwed up big time.

I just saw it... And it really is as bad as the critics say. Even Wonder Woman couldn't redeem it. It's just plain BAD. :/

A pro-genocide actress as Wonder Woman couldn't solve anything.

4/10 - lazy trolling, and misapplication of the term genocide. See me after class; you can do better than this!
