Hmm...perhaps you are concerned with others being able to "see through" you, and that sort of fragility bothers you? When one makes a verbal gaffe, it is said one has ones foot in ones mouth, and maybe the worry of saying the wrong thing is concerning to you, hence the feeling of fear over your hollow toe being crushed.

Hm, I don't think so. I am pretty open about my life with people I work and hang out with.
