It is so windy outside right now when I stepped outside, and it hit me in the face I could not breathe.

Same here, there were many threats of the power going out! I give up with resetting the oven clock until the wind dies down.

We haven't had any problems like that yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did happen. Power outages are such a problem for us that I have an emergency generator just in case.

I feel ya, the Santa Anas are crazy strong seasonal windstorms. There's a certain intersection a little northeast of my house where the local news always sends their crew to report on the Santa Anas-- they get a great shot of the hanging street sign blowing all the back (horizontal), and trees whipping around in the background.

I've been almost pushed over by the wind many times, and the patio chairs end up in the pool.

I actually got awakened at 6 something this morning by our house literally rattling and shaking because the wind was so strong and ridiculously loud. No storms, no rain, no snow, none of that accompanying it. Just intense wind gusts. Kinda freaked me out a little.
