Back in ye olden days people used to leave their drabbles on their LJ/what have you, and only post long chapter fic to fic sites. The drabbles they might post as a round-up, if ever.

Now that that's gone and tumblr's mostly for art reposts, they have no other outlets, I imagine.

No to mention that people used to keep their shitposts to themselves and only post something that had a little bit of polish. Now you are not allowed to give anything other than unconditional praise, and on some sites they attack you even if you say nothing at all when someone posts.

Yeah, I'm sorry I complimented three other fics posted today and not yours, but yours was two hundred words long and was a piece of condensed plagiarism of one of the others. Yeah, I'm sorry they got plaudits and you got silence, but if you could quit attacking me for just keeping that to myself and not saying anything then that would be nice. Oh, okay, fine. Nice fic kiddo, looking forward to more. Was that what you demanded in your profanity laced death threat? Oh, it was. Because it was apparently not fair to recognise others making an effort and not you, even though you made no effort.
