today was weird. was out with daughters today. They're 5 and 7. lady comes up tries to stand between me and my daughters while asking them 'where is your mommy?' and 'do you know this man?' about me. i don't respond well. i tell lady to go mind her own f'ing business and to leave us alone. i tell her these are my daughters. she want's to see proof. i have photos which i show her. she backs off and walks away while giving me a 'i'm watching you' look. what the shit, right?

I think it's pretty clear that it does happen.

However, I will say that I have personally never see it happen, and nothing of the kind ever happened to my father, who was a single parent to me, and who took me out in public (to parks and pools and such) on an almost daily basis.

Where I'm from, people tend to be extremely supportive of fathers out with their young child(ren). People make a point of being friendly and affording them all the same considerations that would be given to a mother out with her young child(ren).
