Podcast Recs
I have been following Welcome to Nightvale for some time now and I listened to the first season of Limetown. Pretty much everyone recced Serial, so I tried that and I liked the first season, but I couldn't really get into the second.
What kind of podcasts do you like? I am pretty much open to all genres, fiction and non-fiction, etc., but women and lgbt content are definitly a plus (though not required).

I'm only about 14 chapters in (there's 76 posted so far, plus some bonus episodes). It got a little boring around "Here are a Zillion Words We Got From Greek" but the stuff on Proto-Indo-European and what the language says about where and how the people who spoke it lived was really interesting.
To download, click on each episode link, then right-click on where it says "Download" and select "Save link as." For me, just clicking on "Download" only starts playing the mp3 file in the browser.

Re: Podcast Recs
SAYER(http://geeklyinc.com/category/sayer/): "SAYER is a narrative fiction podcast set on Earth’s man-made second moon, Typhon. The eponymous SAYER is a highly advanced, self-aware AI created to help acclimate new residents to their new lives, and their new employment with Ærolith Dynamics." A really great and creepy scifi podcast. It is also complete!
We're Alive(http://www.werealive.com/episodes/). A story about survivors during a zombie apocalypse. Probably the best produced podcast I have listened to. It is also complete.
Wolf 359(http://www.wolf359.fm/) More of a dramedy. It is about a group of people on a space station orbiting a red dwarf star called Wolf 359.
Limetown(http://www.limetownstories.com/). Similar to Black Tapes in that it spoofs Serial (but I enjoyed the actors and characters WAY better). The story focuses on the town Limetown and the 300 residents who disappeared without a trace.
King Falls AM(https://audioboom.com/channel/kingfallsam): A guy moves to the weird city of King Falls and co-hosts a morning radio show. Over time he begins to experience more of the supernatural goings on. IMO, this is way better than WTNV. There are two radio hosts so they play off each other and they focus more on the weird town stuff than later seasons of WTNV did. Only downside are short episodes. :(
Fiction Podcasts That Are Collections of Stories
No Sleep Podcast(http://www.thenosleeppodcast.com/): Horror stories. Started with stories from the NoSleep forum but now they get stories from other places as well.
Knifepoint Horror(http://knifepointhorror.libsyn.com/): No muss, no fuss horror. The creators skips the intro and throws you right into the story. Great voice as well. :D
The Truth(http://www.thetruthpodcast.com/): A collection of short stories that are sometimes sad, sometimes horrifying, and sometimes touching. My favorite episodes are "You Are Not Alone" and "Sylvia's Blood"
Other Podcasts
Rooster Teeth/Off Topic: The creators of Red Vs. Blue and Achievement Hunter just shooting the shit in a comedic fashion.
The Morning Stream(http://frogpants.com/podcasts/tms/): A daily show that has a bit of news, a bit of comedy, and a bit of everything. I'd also recommend Film Sack by the same creators (a show where four guys watch terrible movies and talk about them).
Lore (http://www.lorepodcast.com/): The narrator discusses various creepy and horrifying topics. Great production and voice.
For some podcasts hosted by women look at Stuff You Missed In History Class, Faculty of Horror (about horror films), Should I Worry About This?, and Stuff Mom Never Told You.
Re: Podcast Recs
I listened to the latest KFAM episode at work today and I was laughing so hard.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-05 12:36 am (UTC)(link)I'm really enjoying What's Cooking In Hell's Kitchen, a Daredevil S2 podcast, and The Watching Dead (I'm looking forward to their thoughts one The Walking Dead finale).
I also like The Thought Bubble with Joanna Robinson, which is all about comic books and their various screen adaptions.
For gayness, please listen to Bring A Plate because they are cutest and funniest gays ever.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-05 03:06 am (UTC)(link)Flash Forward (futurist podcast, comes up with crazy sci fi scenarios and discusses them. She seems to make an effort to find women experts to interview)
Dear Hank and John (mostly the episode where hank's wife Katherine replaced John. It was great. I don't think you have to know who they are to appreciate it, but I am a huge Hank Green fan)
Stuff you missed in history class (usually pretty good, depends on the subject. I've enjoyed their live/interview episodes the most. The presidential assassination one!)
Life of the Law (I think it's publically funded? It's always waay more interesting than you think. I listened to one recently about juggalos legal battle with the fbi)
Fansplaining (this is a fandom podcast that recently started. Probably not for everyone but you'd know pretty quick if you looked up the two women involved.)
Food non fiction (kind of a food trivia podcast. Also hosted by two women!)
Honorable mention to song exploder, reply all, and the heroine's journey. Those are great too.
