thats just how most lips that arent very thin look, they tend to get vertical lines in them when relaxed (not stretched by smiling or talking) i mean i guess if they weren't pink they would be less wormy, but i'm sure there are brown and tan worms.

Repeating from above: many people have wrinkles in their lower lips but not so much in their upper, and not quite so many wrinkles or so very evenly spaced. To me it makes them look more worm-like.
