Re: Overwatch Short 2 - This time Tracer

How do you "kill" a robot, though? Couldn't it just have itself copied to a different backup drive, then upload that into its next body? If its memories are stored in the cloud wirelessly then it would be right up to the minute.

Also, now I realize why people were complaining about the female characters having a serious case of same!body, because... ouch, yeah. A svelter, more adolescent physique would've suited Tracer's voice/personality/etc. much better, as opposed to GIANT TITS microscopic waist HUGE BADONK but I guess someone couldn't fap to that. It suits Widowmaker perfectly, though.

Have you looked at the other female characters? You know there are like 10.

Nah, it's not really my kind of game. But I recall reading an article on my feed that stated that the whole reason they added some of said female characters at all (the bodybuilder in particular) is that many people had pointed out that the female characters up to that point had some serious same!body, while the male characters were quite diverse.

If those are two of the original female characters, I see exactly what they were talking about.

Tracer and Widowmaker DO have different bodies, though. Both are slim but Widowmaker is curvier and Tracer has a smaller bust and bum.

Tracer's body type is pretty similar to my own, actually.

In the prerendered animation? Slightly. For the in-game models? No. Not even a little. Which is painful, because the male models do.

Don't kid yourself; they have exactly the same leg length, exactly the same shoulder slope, exactly the same hip-to-shoulder ratio, exactly the same limb width, exactly the same neck width and length, exactly the same spinal curvature... just like every other female model they built until Zarya and Mei. Not to mention that, even if there is a slight difference in bust and ass size in the prerenders, it's not like one's an apple and one's a pear: they're almost identical hourglass figures to very slightly less eye-popping extremes.

I mean if all the dudes were the same generic V-line muscle man I wouldn't even have raised an eyebrow, but if you're going to have a tiny dudes and fat dudes and huge dudes and medium dudes who are V-lines and straight lines and O-lines and then all of your female characters have exactly the same hourglass figure and slender build (which coincidentally is the form commonly considered the most attractive - coincidentally, I assure you) regardless of any differences in their training or age or fighting style, well, that's straight up bullshit.

Oh hey, I just looked them up, and aside from the bodybuilder and Mei - who were added after people pointed this out - yep, they all have the same physique.

I like that Pharah actually has cool-looking armor, though. And honestly, good on Blizzard for actually giving a fuck and not just handwringing about the dastardly SJWs ruining their creative vision by pointing out a blatant double standard.

I dunno if you can directly link the criticism to the new characters considering how long these characters probably take to actually make, and they were revealed about a month or so after.

Blizzard stated explicitly that the bodybuilder was created in response to the criticism, actually.
