Harry Potter sites: Portkey, The Leaky Cauldron, and Sugar Quill, were some of the first sites I visited with regularity. After that there was fanfiction.net and LJ.

Oh, I was a Quiller too!

... although there's things I don't miss about Sugar Quill.

Yes, I remember that you'd be thwapped firmly if you made certain kinds of forum posts....I started a fic (graveled by HBP) in which, among other things, Remus's transformations had an unpleasant premonitory stage for which he self-medicated with weed. So I asked a question about what they call the stuff in England and how he might go about getting a supply, and the post got taken down for Corrupting The Young.

NAYRT

So you still have that fic? It sounds interesting, and I just love Remus. I'm always curious to see how different people come up with ways to have him deal with transforming (because lbr, he's always broke and Wolfsbane didn't always exist-- but if he is broke, I'm wondering how he got enough money to get some--he probably needed some strong stuff, and quite a bit of it too)
