As a dabbler in Doctor Who and therefore not qualified to feel insane amounts of hate toward any showrunner, I will always be grateful to Moffat for the Twelfth Doctor. I don't have particularly high standards for DW scripts, but cast chemistry can completely hook me, and Twelve and Clara have that in spades.

Frankly, I've enjoyed all the NuWho Doctors, but prior to Capaldi, Tom Baker was the Doctor I loved the most. He has an amazing face - everything about it is exaggerated. But then his line delivery is so declarative and deadpan. He's absolutely got what it takes to play an alien.

(And yeah, I know it's weird, but I agree with OP that he's gorgeous in his own bizarre way.)
