I wasn't really sure what you meant tbh. "You can't talk about this if you're X gender/not Z gender" type stuff pops up often enough in SJ conversations that it seemed entirely possible there was some weird reason being NB precluded me from discussing the intersection of race with the primarily female gendered slash fandom.

Oh please, that argument is such a load of phooey. People don't have to act a certain way because they're a member of a minority group. The whole "you're making us all look bad/you're letting your race/gender/class/people down" stuff is an unfair standard to impose on people.

You don't stop being an individual and become a plaster saint just because you're not in the majority group.
