As if young women's sexuality is above reproach?

Did they say that anywhere? I didn't see that. You certainly haven't disproved their statement in any way--just went on the attack to deflect from the fact that it's valid criticism.

The issue is punching up versus punching down, not "these people can never be criticized".

black people are punching up though. acting like black people, whether male or female, have any way to change the status quo if we don't acknowledge the fact that fandom is a white dominated space, whether male or female fans, is ridiculous. if women of colour and men of colour had any say in the matter we would already have a lot more representation than we're seeing.

i think it's the fact that people are getting pissed that they don't feel black people are punching up enough. but criticizing slash fandom can be done simultaneously while criticizing heteronormative, white-normal double standards, so i have no idea why people are acting like we can do only one thing at a time.

holy shit do you not realize how "making shippers feel guilty" is literally a useless endeavor? The problem is broad and societal. A few more fics shipping black dick changes nothing for nobody.

funny, i only ever see the former being done, never the latter.

but okay, keep thinking you're doing something special, when all you're actually doing is being shitty to real people over a hobby.
