Does anyone have any recs for Old Hollywood celebrity memoirs/biographies/autobiographies? I'm looking for ones that stick closer to events as they actually happened rather than made up stories or crazy theories.

I knew I was going to fuck it up! DAVID Niven, not Larry. Larry does sci fi and is unrelated. David Niven was old school Hollywood and the book I named is a fascinating read.

I'm upset because I can't recall the exact title or author of the book, but I do beleiev it was

Hellfire: The Jerry Lee Lewis Story by Nick Tosches

Amazing book, I didn't know about the singer until I read it, and yup. Pretty good read.

I don't know if it is what you are looking for, but I loved Never Have Your Dog Stuffed by Alan Alda.

I've been wanting to get my own hands on Louise Brooks' sort-of memoir, Lulu in Hollywood, which might interest you.
