It's been years since I saw a Buffy fanvid, but I remember exactly what you mean.

Vidders work with what they have to tell a new story. News at 11.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-12 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, this is my thinking, too. Most of the scenes are taken out of context in order to weave a concept or a story in a different medium.

At least OP admits it's petty.
deird1: Willow dressed as vamp!Willow, with text "ceci n'est pas une vampire" (this is not a vampire) (Willow (french vampire))

That always bugs me. Like, I saw a Spuffy vid once that had Buffy say "I love you" - except in the original scene she's talking to Angel, and that totally threw me off.

When I made my Xander/Willow vid, I made damn sure that every time Willow was looking off-screen at Xander, she actually was dammit!
silverr: a character from The Devil Wears Prada with his hand over his mouth (_oops)

...especially when they could have used a perfectly legit clip from when she says it to Spike in S7 :p

(Anonymous) 2016-04-12 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Also: fanfics contain scenes that never actually happened in the show.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-11 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That kind of thing bugs me too. It's silly, but it does.

+1

yupp

(Anonymous) 2016-04-11 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I always shipped Buffy/Happiness, myself, which knocked Spike and Angel out of the running. (Also, I may have shipped Spike with Angel.)

She looks stoned off her ass in that frame.
silverr: abstract art of pink and purple swirls on a black background (BtVS_spike)

Oh yeah, agreed.

Because it's WRONG!

(Anonymous) 2016-04-12 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! A+

I've had the same problem with stuff about my Lost ship. It's just annoying to see someone you know isn't that half of your OTP show up in shippy things, especially when you really don't like that character or their dynamic with the other person.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-12 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh totally off topic, but what's your Lost ship?
purpleseas: (bocke close to me)

[personal profile] purpleseas 2016-04-12 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
These guys right here. Because it wasn't complicated enough before the imposter even showed up, lol.

(Anonymous) 2016-04-12 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
No, you're right. That is wrong and annoying. Totally not Buff, and not representative of her relationship with Spike.
