The anime ended in 2012, but the manga is still ongoing.

Oh, wow. Didn't Kubo want to end it at, like, the Soul Society arc? I lost interest long before they defeated Aizen (they did defeat Aizen, right?), but from fandom osmosis I was under the expression that Kubo had long since ran out of ideas/stopped caring and was basically just trolling the fandom because Shonen Jump (or whoever) forced him to continue the manga due to its popularity.
