Yeah, I think that's what it is...I can understand it, though. I'm a dub fan (although I watch the subs as well), and often I can find myself quoting the lines from the dub and then being completely baffled when someone mentions the sub lines from the same scene. It's really just whatever you're used to.

(Oh man, I love that site. I'm addicted...it's on a tab in my firefox browser right now.)

Yeah, it is understandable that people will get used to the first interpretation they see -- I do that too. It's just the complaining that all later interpretations are doing it wrong because they're not like the original that gets to me.

(It really is addictive, isn't it? I spend way too much time there.)

Yeah, same here. I really wish fans on the internet would think a little more. They really make the rest of us look bad.

(Totally. Sometimes I get burnt out and think I've freed myself from it's grasp, but then....well, I've spent all day on that darn site.)

Indeed. And of course the ones who don't think are always the most vocal, while the sane and intelligent ones are quieter and therefore get overwhelmed by the others.

(It's kind of cyclical for me, too -- I spend huge chunks of time on it for a few weeks, then I get sick of it and go "ha, at last I am free!" ... and then a couple weeks later I'm back again.

... incidentally and apropos of nothing, would it be weird and stalkery of me to say I always enjoy talking to you? We've had a couple of conversations here, and you tend to have interesting things to say, so. I don't know, as weird as it is to randomly anonymously compliment a near-stranger, I wanted to say that.)

Oh, of course! It seems like that's true for a lot of things in fandom. The stupider the fan is, the louder they are about their opinions.

(No! I don't think it's stalkery at all! I hope that it took me a while to respond didn't come off as a "yes" to that question. XD;; I'm actually sort of flattered! I'm glad people find me interesting to talk to. Although now I'm curious about who you are.)
